Free Online Tutoring for K-12 Students


Looking for a tutor who speaks your language?

ESOL Owls enables personal at-home learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We pair K-12 ESOL students with tutors to help with homework, English, reading, math or other subjects. Our tutors are college students from the University of Maryland and other universities. They have experience teaching English language learners and speak over 30 languages.

How does it work?

Sign up for tutoring by filling out the sign-up form. After you sign up, we will match you with a tutor. Your student will meet with the tutor over video chat or on the phone.


Who is eligible?

Any student in grades K-12 can join the program. The program is directed towards ESOL students in Maryland and DC, but native English speakers and adults are also welcome to sign up.


Who are the tutors?

ESOL Owls is based at the University of Maryland. We have tutors from a number of universities across Maryland, DC, and the rest of the US.
